Zoom and Microsoft Teams can both make use of your webcam. Because of this, conflicts can sometimes occur that can prevent one or both programs from being able to display the video feed from your device. If you find that your webcam is not working properly in Zoom and/or Teams, there are a few things you can try that might resolve the problem.
- Restart your computer. Many issues that affect camera usage can be resolved simply by restarting your computer.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on PC or Option+Command+Esc on Mac to see a list of programs that are currently running on your computer. If you find that Zoom and Teams are both running, close one of the applications.
- If you are using an external webcam, try unplugging the device and then plugging it back in.
-
If your issue is with Zoom, check to make sure that your preferred camera is selected. You can do this by opening the Zoom application and clicking on your profile picture at the top of the page. From there, select “Settings” and choose “Video” from the options on the left of the screen. Make sure that the webcam that you intend to use is selected in the “Camera” dropdown menu.
- If your issue is with Teams, you should make sure that your preferred camera is on and that it is selected in the camera dropdown menu.
