Dear Fielding Students,
In 19 days, on Tuesday, Oct. 31, our IT team will be migrating all current student email accounts from the current Gmail account to a Microsoft 365 account.
Reasons for this change and why now:
- Due to security requirements, Fielding, along with many other universities, can no longer utilize PayPal for processing payments.
- To minimize risk, Fielding has started moving to a new payment processor, TouchNet.
- TouchNet will require all Fielding users to sign in with a @fielding.edu address.
While we understand this change is difficult, we are providing technical support throughout this project for all students:
1. We will have ZOOM Meetings each week to explain the changes and answer questions. Our next scheduled meetings are:
ZOOM Link: https://fielding-edu.zoom.us/j/87023464137
Meeting ID: 870 2346 4137
Faculty Session: Gmail to MS 365: Wednesday, October 18: 9:00 am – 10:00 am Pacific
Student Session: Gmail to MS 365: Wednesday, October 18: 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm Pacific
2. FAQs are available on our Fielding Help Desk page.
3. Information on how to use Microsoft 365 and Outlook is in the Student Guide to Academic Technology.
4. Questions and help requests can be submitted at https://support.fielding.edu.
5. IT will provide after-hours support between October 31 and November 5.
6. Fielding will forward Gmail messages to your new Office 365 account from October 31, 2023, until December 31, 2024. This will give students over a year to update all accounts, subscriptions, and contacts with their new email address.
Stay tuned for more weekly reminders leading up to the Oct. 31 change date, and please share this information with other students and colleagues. We appreciate your attention to this upcoming change!
Kind regards,
The ITAC Committee
